Denis joined Shotts in 2006, and amazingly has been competing in pipe bands for over 40 uninterrupted seasons! Before his time in Shotts, Denis spent 17 years with the Black Bottle/David Urquhart Travel Pipe Band, and before that he spent another 17 years with the Hoover Pipe Band. Needless to say loyalty is clearly one of Denis’ qualities! Denis lives in Cambuslang, Glasgow, and although now retired he used to work as the Principle Design Engineer for a major Telecoms company. His outlook is to get the most out of life, and as he says, “it’s better to burn out than fade away.”
