The Gourock Highland Games, scheduled yesterday on Sunday 12 May, was unfortunately cancelled this past weekend due to poor conditions in the water-logged park. For Shotts and Dykehead Caledonia, the contest would have been the first appearance of the band with its new membership under Pipe Major Ryan Canning.
The band was disappointed not to get out yesterday, however will be competing at the upcoming British Pipe Band Championships in Bathgate, which will now be the band’s first contest this season.
